Coming up with content on a consistent basis for your readers can be hard work. Even when you’re on top of your content, it can be at times difficult to come up with ideas to post, or even talk about. I’ve struggled with it too, which leaves you feeling really frustrated.

But what if you could magically get inspired by gathering an article, or two, or three or more, and create engaging articles with content curation. That is, sharing content of value with your readers.

You see, that’s the power of curating content. You can share it in your blog, social media, podcast and videos.

It’s what I’ve done as part of my overall content strategy. A mix bag of my own content, and content curation every other week. It makes life so much easier.

When you’re focused on the one platform, the process is less complicated and far easier to get things done.

Whereas, wrapping yourself all over multiple social platforms will take up more of your time away from the serious stuff of the busines. Making money.

Not only will you spread yourself too thin, it will be a huge time suck.

So pick a platform where your ideal prospects hang out online.

Which is a complete waste of your time. And worse still, leads to NO sale.

Not everyone is YOU.

When you get crystal clear on who your ideal customer is, you will be able to create content and marketing that will not only grab their attention, but piquing their curiosity as well.

So don’t chase everyone. Know WHO you want to connect with, focus your attention on them and help them.

3. Post With Intent.

With every post, there should be a reason and a purpose to each one.

Whether it is a motivational post, a connection post, a how to, or even a lifestyle post, think of …

1. Who your reader is.
2. How you’ll be able to help them.
3. What is the goal that you are trying to accomplish.

Which brings back to this …

Focus on helping people first.

Share lots and lots of valuable information (read: not spam or post any weird stuff) that your prospect is looking for.

4. Have a Content Marketing Plan.

Coming up with social content needs planning and time. So pick a weekend or block a couple of days to plan out the content.

  • Checking other people’s content to Comment, Like or Engage with
  • Post your stuff on social media and share it on other social media channels
  • When people Comment, Like or Engage on your posts, reply and engage back to start a conversation. It’s a way to build the relationship towards credibility and trust.
  • Follow up. When you follow up, it allows you to keep your brand in front of the minds of your audience and customers. Which can lead to more sales.
  • Measure your results, and make sure you are getting the return on your investment from your time … and ad spend. And if need be, change up the process and make it better.

There you have it …

Look, if you want to take your business to the next level, you need to take action and stay consistent. Just showing up once a while will not cut it.

Like any offline business, building a business on social media takes time and focus.

Pour your attention to ONE social platform, keep it simple and generate quality traffic.
